Established in September 1990, the Faculty of Information Technology (IT) at Open University, Ho Chi Minh City, is one of the first faculties formed at the university. Over more than 35 years of development, the faculty has become a leading center for training qualified IT professionals. With a team of dedicated, experienced lecturers holding PhDs and Masters degrees from prestigious universities both in Vietnam and abroad, the faculty is committed to providing top-tier education.
To date, the faculty has successfully trained over 6,000 IT graduates in fields such as Computer Science, Informatics, and Management Information Systems (MIS). These graduates have made significant contributions to the workforce in both domestic and international markets, working as IT specialists, software engineers, researchers, and university lecturers.
In 2021 & 2022, the Management Information Systems program was accredited by the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), and the Computer Science program received accreditation from the ASEAN University Network (AUN). In 2024, the Faculty completed the accreditation process for its Information Technology program according to MOET standards.
